Sebanyak Tiga unit rumah semi permanen di Jalan Cempaka 2, Kelurahan Tebing Tinggi Lama, Kota Tebing Tinggi, hangus terbakar dalam peristiwa kebakaran yang terjadi pada Senin dini hari (21/7/2025) sekitar pukul 03.50 Wib. Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam kejadian itu, namun kerugian materi diperkirakan cukup besar.
Dengan dipimpin Padal Ipda JF. Sormin, S.H, personel Polres Tebing Tinggi bertindak cepat, segera mendatangi lokasi begitu menerima laporan dari warga. Bersama tim dari SPKT dan Inafis, serta dukungan Polsek Padang Hilir, petugas langsung melakukan pengamanan dilokasi, olah TKP, identifikasi, serta pemasangan garis polisi.
“Kedatangan petugas kepolisian dilokasi untuk memastikan keselamatan warga, mengamankan TKP, dan mengumpulkan data serta barang bukti. Ini merupakan langkah cepat dan sebagai bentuk pelayanan kami terhadap masyarakat”, ujar Kasi Humas Polres Tebing Tinggi, AKP Mulyono dalam keterangannya.
Berawal dua orang warga yang melihat terjadinya kebakaran dibagian atap salah satu rumah. Keduanya sempat membangunkan pemilik rumah dan menghubungi kepolisian, serta meminta bantuan warga untuk memadamkan api. Sebanyak tiga warga menjadi korban dalam peristiwa ini, yakni Aulia Fitra (41), Rudi Anggara (38) dan Puji Lestari (39).
“Api dapat dipadamkan sekira pukul 05.30 Wib, setelah enam unit pemadam kebakaran diturunkan. Dari penyelidikan awal diduga bahwa kebakaran disebabkan oleh korsleting arus listrik dari lantai atas salah satu rumah. Namun demikian, kepolisian masih mendalami penyebab pasti kebakaran ini”, tutup Kasi Humas.
